Intern Spotlight: Jayde Gumaer

Meet Jayde Gumaer, our grain and agronomy operations intern this summer in Exeter, Nebraska.
Jayde is from Utica, Nebraska, and is attending the University of Nebraska - Lincoln, majoring in Agronomy. He anticipates graduating in May 2027.
Why did you choose to intern at Farmers Cooperative?
Farmers Cooperative has given me the opportunity to gain a broader perspective of the agriculture industry and helped me to learn new work-related skills.
Why did you choose this specific internship?
I think that agronomy and grain operations are interesting and I wanted to learn more about how it works in a cooperative capacity.
What has been the best part of your internship so far?
The best part of my internship so far has been talking with farmers and helping them with their needs.
What are you most excited about with your internship?
I enjoy talking with people and learning new things from their experiences throughout my internship.
What are the day-to-day tasks in your role?
I help with loading and delivering chemicals, as well as completing field evaluations.
What is your summer internship project?
My project focuses on conducting fertilizer comparisons by collecting and analyzing tissue samples to evaluate the effectiveness of different fertilizer treatments.
What are your plans after graduation?
After graduation, I plan to pursue a career working in the agricultural field.
Fun fact?
One of my favorite hobbies is golf.
